I recieved a new Cable in the mail, installed it, everything went fine. powers on, etc. ive downloaded the image with get right... I STILL freeze on selecting pump device. please help, this is quite aggravating. thanks a lot.

do you have 1 or 2 drives? if u dont know, is it a 60gb or other size stock?

1 20gb hd, mk2, i installed cable myself, it powers on, works in car, just wont upgrade or work recognize in emplode b/c of selecting pump device freeze.

What program did you use for downloading the .upgrade image?

Sorry for being a little slow on the uptake, but could you start from the beginning?
I assume that you were having drive problems and received a replacement cable from David.
Is this a hard drive that you installed yourself? Did you run disk builder against it? Exactly what symptoms are you seeing? Can you post a boot log?

FAQ entry on the "Pump" error is
here.
Since your player works in the car but not at home, I would suspect a problem with the AC adaptor as described
here.
I'll update the FAQ entry on the "pump" error to also include the reference to the AC adaptor.

FAQ entry on the Bad Pump error a little bit.
One question to the empeg guys (if you're reading this):
Could the pump error be caused by an incorrectly-partitioned disk drive? Should this person be running the builder-image on the disk drive now to make sure it's partitioned right?
