usb 2.0?

is it possible to make a hack to put in a usb2.0 system to replace the current usb in the empeg? i ask because of the significant gain in bandwidth... would be very benifical to syncing. probably not, since i'd imagine usb2.0 uses the pci bus, which is lacking in the empeg.
