band pass VS two sub enclosures

I am wanting to put two subs in the boot of my car BMW E36 saloon and i am considering two options and they are two ten or eight inch subs one either side of the boot in small enclosures or two ten or eights in a bandpass box. In both cases the subs being driven by a 4 channel amp bridged down to two channel

this presents a few questions

1 What will sound best with a diverse music taste

2 how do i design a bandpass box

3 how critical is volumes and porting in small enclosures

4 i want it as small as possible so it is still useable as a car
