RCA Output CD Changer with Control Unit?? - 09/02/2002 21:36

Ok, so I have my empeg instaleld with Tuner, now I just need a way that my wife can still use her CDs since she "Can't figure out these things!" I have looked at FM modulated CD Changers as a solution, but I would really like to find a changer that will plug in directly to the Empeg's AUX in. That way I dont have to worry about FM static. Has anyone done this? I have done some searching, but can't seem to find any retailers that sell a unit like this? I would think that Alpine or someone would make an adaptor to use instead of the FM modulator? If anyone can help, it would be appriciated. Thanks.

Not a changer, but if you've got a double DIN dash this is a great solution. Although it has an FM modulator it also provides RCA line outs.

Yea, that is my delima! I only have a 1.5 DIN dash (chrysler). I saw another post on here that mentioned a sony FM modulator unit that also provided RCA outputs. Anyone know anything about these? Thanks.

I just posted about a $30 Sony controller that can be used with any of their current CD changers (in the Off Topic forum by accident ). It will allow you to use RCA outputs into the empeg. It was recommended to me by an engineer at PhatNoise as being a suitable controller for their Phatbox as well.

Sony also sells a changer that comes with the same or similar adapter/controller in the box. I mentioned that one in another thread (though I didn't have a link for it). You can search for it by putting in some descriptive words (search the entire BBS and put my name "bruno" as one of the words to narrow it down)

Here's a link to the relevant units at Crutchfield: http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S-5MpkX6LdiXH/ProdGroup.asp?c=3&s=0&g=610

One of them might have RCA-output built in (if not visible on the site, you will have to email or call Crutchfield and/or check manufacturer websites and literature for more information). I know some of them have multi-pin outputs that can probably be connected to some type of RCA line-level adapter.
