jEmplode 43 - 27/10/2002 10:54

Pretty must just a bugfix release, but here are the changes:

jEmplode - removed "drive" tag

jEmplode - fixed human-readable size format

jEmplode - fixed "pos" tag for downloading

jEmplode - insufficient permission to read mp3 during import = skipped mp3

jEmplode - multiple-select w/ Play/Insert/Append is kinda fixed (it doesn't do one request yet)

jEmplode - if tracknr == -1 or is blank during download, tracknr gets replaced with pos

jEmplode - genre import/export works

jEmplode - much more accurate failed-to-connect-to-Hijack error messages

jEmplode - Thanks to tms13 for fixing some issues with internationalized characters in XML export

How's tag-writing-on-download doing in this version?

Works for me ... Make sure the settings are turned on in Tools=>Options, but give it a shot and let me know.

Re: jEmplode 43 - 27/10/2002 20:18

in another post it was mentioned that pc to empeg time sync is possible. Ive installed jEmplode 43 but cant seem to find this feature. Ive also searced through the bbs. How is this feature accessed?

Re: jEmplode 43 - 27/10/2002 20:39

If it's possible, it's not through jEmplode ... I would check the faq at riocar.org.

Yeah I probably read the post wrong and hoped that it was possible, thanks for the quick reply though.

I don't have anything in the main FAQ at riocar.org on that topic. I believe that in order to do PC-to-empeg time sync, you would have to compile some special software for the empeg. Because it's not built in to the empeg. I could be wrong, though.

Re: jEmplode 43 - 27/10/2002 23:34

Hm. I can't get v43 to do what I would think it does...

I have "Write ID3v2 Tags to Downloaded Files" checked and it writes the data in the ID3v1 tag area.

This would be ok, except that a lot of my song names are very long and I think there's a much shorter song name limit in ID3v1... right?

The POS feature is outstanding. Great idea filling it in only when it's blank!

Re: jEmplode 43 - 28/10/2002 05:13

That's strange ... it shouldn't be writing in the v1 area... try turning on remove ID3v1 tags and see if that makes any difference?

Re: jEmplode 43 - 28/10/2002 09:07

If I check "remove ID3v1 tags", then I get no tag at all...

Re: jEmplode 43 - 29/10/2002 19:01

workin' on it ... i switched back to an older version of dan's id3 lib to try to work around something else, and I think I regret it.

Still looks wrong to me. I waited a while for the proxies to clear their caches, but of course I can't be sure.

Re: jEmplode 43 - 30/10/2002 05:36

Oh ... you're saying the href was wrong .. i thought you were talking about the symlink (like the reference on the filesystem was pointing to the wrong one). I'll fix the link right now...

Re: jEmplode 43 - 30/10/2002 06:00

It's going to be a little longer than I hoped ... I'm talking with Dan to figure out what is going on.

Re: jEmplode 43 - 30/10/2002 08:45

Thanks, Mike - looks better now.

I prefer to download the numbered file so I don't have to rename it here (I like to keep a directory of jars, and point a symlink to the "current" one in case I need to downgrade).
