Web Interface problems

Web Interface problems - 26/08/2003 17:15

I just installed charcoalgray's web interface 1.3 with hijack 3.40.

I keep getting javascript errors when I load the interface - and adding or removing [output]notify=1 from the config.ini seems to make no difference whatsoever. It doesn't even display the error message telling me to add notify=1 to my config.ini.

I checked /proc/empeg_notify and it's there, but i'm not convinced it's returning any data to the web interface?

Does anybody have any clues? The web interface used to work beautifully, but that was a while ago, and also when i was running 2.0b13. I'm currently running 2.0 final.

Thanks,
Craig

I'm using v1.3 of charcoalgrey's web interface, hijack 336 and 2.0 final and it works fine. There's not problems with it at all.
You shouldn't get any Javascript errors at all though. What are they?

What web browser are you using? It only works properly with Internet Explorer, and only with version 5.5 or later.

Check the text on his web page to see if you need the XML core services installed.

Oh. Also...

When you extracted all the files, did you put them in a tree structure, and did you duplicate that tree structure exactly on the empeg when you uploaded the files?

Did you mark all the files as readable?

I'm using IE6 and Mozilla Firebird 0.6 - doesn't work in either.

Getting JS errors about the notify when the page first loads, and then pops the JS error every couple of secs obviously when it's trying to refresh the "currently playing" iframe.

I extracted with the tree intact, but I didn't specifically make anything readable - how would I go about doing that?

Thanks

Information about setting the file permissions is here.
