License question: Download.c?

License question: Download.c? - 13/10/2000 12:00

Because I will be modifying the source code for download.c, and then using it as part of my logo editor program, am I obligated to include the download.c sources? Is it released under GNU or anything?

Only if the code you took it from was under a GNU Licence.

(I'm getting to tired to post on here)

Right, that's what I'm asking. Is download.c released under the GPL?

Surely if the header of the file doesn't say it's under GNU then it can't be ?

Download.c as I remember isn't under any licence; if I'd written it nicely then I might have bothered :)

I suspect it can be treated as public domain/freeware (ie, do what you like with it). There's not a lot that can be changed and still expect it to talk to the empeg's reflasher :)

Thanks, Hugo, you're right, there's not a lot to change. All I did was add a "port" parameter and change some of the output messages, then included the compiled .exe with my logo editor.
