Database Corruption/Files Gone?

Database Corruption/Files Gone? - 15/10/2000 02:29

Quick question for one of the empeg guys (or anyone else who happens to know). I was testing a java clone of emptool and had a sync die on me after about five minutes of uploading. This resulted in database corruption that appears to have been corrected after connecting to the empeg with emplode. None of the files that I was uploading appear to be on the empeg (from the empeg GUI or emplode). So the question is... When emplode causes the empeg to rebuild the database are files from a failed transfer removed or do I now have 100megs worth of space wasted on my empeg because the files are there but do not have the appropriate DB entries?

Thanks,
-Mike

Any files that do not feature in the database can be found "unconnected items", empeg's equivalent of lost&found.

OK, thanks Rob. I have nothing in unattached items so I guess the files got removed or never really made it to the empeg in the first place.

BTW, sorry for posting this to 'Programming' meant to put it somewhere else.

Umm, yeah, "unattached". I don't know where "unconnected" came from - I was still half asleep when I wrote that!
