Control Phone - 31/08/2001 16:53

I am an Happy Nokia 6110 owner.

With the AUX input for Empeg, I built my own phone4empeg
Explanation :

I bought an Hand Free Kit for my Nokia 6110.

cut the Headphone, and used this line with a 1 nF Capacitor via a RCA connector to the AUX lnput.

Now, I can use my phone with the Empeg.

Buit I know there is an Interface under Linux calld Gnokii to control some Nokia Celphones via a Serial Port .

Is it possible to do whith the Empeg ?

I had it connected through ir on the empeg once here
I guess that if you can connect the phone directly to the serial port, you could just start sending AT-commands to the serial port.
Let me know if you know how to tap the serial line from the car-kit cradle. I could also buy a cheap card-phone with an internal modem and install it somewhere in the dash. People could SMS me and the message would pop up on the display... hmmm...

I've got a nokia car-kit with one speaker under the dash. what would I need to feed the speaker line to aux-in?

1- You need to take the speaker signal.
2- Add a 100 N Capacitor in serial with this signal
3- Add a RCA Connector after the signal to connect to Empeg AUX IN

It could probably Works.

It works for me but I used the Hand Free Kit with a simple Mic and One Ear Headphone

I have tried it, but it seems my 7110 isn't supported. I couldn't get it to do anything, at least over ir.
The 7110 has an internal modem; it can be accessed using standard AT-commands on serial line

gnokki was for the old, IRDA-but-no-modem phones like the 6110. Plain AT commands and a serial cable are all you need for the data capable 6210/7110/etc.

A DLR3P cable to be exact, not to be confused with the DAU9 cables for 6110, 5110 and co. The difference being that the mic input is used to let the 7110 know a serial cable is attached. The 7110 is actually much easier to implement although I am still looking for a good reference on the AT commands accepted. (I did find some left and right)
