My 'review'.

Letsee.. Got it mid-march. Spent about a week and a half playing with it, then took it on a 22hr drive, both ways, between Atlanta and Colorado Springs.
For the entire trip, one way, I never listened to the same song twice.
I love the thing. :>
Asinde from it's small glitches, which I'll probably be calling support for, I've worked around them and abso-freakin'-lutely love it.
I'm kicking myself for not getting it sooner.

You know it's good when you start looking forward to your 40+ minute commute through heavy traffic.

Anyone else notice that you HATE having to ride in anyone else's car?

I love comments like "I wanna ride with Brad. Otherwise I won't have any fun."

Yeah I agree totally and to make it worse, I look forward to the daily traffic jams so I can fiddle with the remote & menu's

Wow. For some reason, the BBS hiccup'd and made this post "all new" to me. And I posted it. Strange.

Anyways, as a review: 6 months later, my 20Gb is 80% full, I can telnet, FTP, HTTP to the player. I have a custom (Darkstorm) lens for it, and Clear/Lighted buttons on the way (supposedly. But I'm in no rush.) It has yet to be installed in a car, which is a good thing because my truck got totaled (and it would have been too, had it been in the vehicle), and I now have a Mini Cooper. I use it at work non-stop (has it's own power supply, connection to PC / work LAN) and now in my Mini non-stop. (Awaiting parts from the UK to get it installed into the car.) I'm even 'borrowing' work time to look into making an OBD interface (hey, it has serial!) and displaying info on screen.

I'm leaving tomorrow (.."on a jet plane"..) on a 6000-mile trek across the US. From Atlanta, GA to Eugene, OR. Taking as few Interstate Highways as possible. I have no doubt that the Empeg will last the entire trip, and again, I'll never have to listen to the same song twice. (Unless I want to, mind you.)

I think that was my fault, actually. One second I was happily opening threads in new windows (so I could read them later), the next second, I got SQL server errors and found that my account was toast. Sorry if I killed the forums.

You weren't the only person who was online when the error happened, so it might not have had anything to do with you. Drakino is interested in discovering the cause of the problem, though. Has he asked you about it?

I'd love to help, since I'm a database designer/admin, but, uh, I never got an error. But, anyways, shame on all of you who broke it.
