2004 VW Touareg

My wife just got one and the noise has begun about installing her RioCar in it.

Has anyone seen any custom audio installs on a Touareg yet? Any pics? I imagine I'll have to fabricate another fascia like I did for the audi a4. However, I think the wiring harness is all new, which could present problems.

Anyone have any details on such stuff yet?

I'll send pics when I can lay hands on the car.

Sorry to steal the topic but how did you make the fascia for the A4 ? I need to make a custom one for my new mazda 3.

I made it out of MDF and just carved and carved with a rotozip until I got it right. I have a photoshop document that shows the dimensions and all... Yours will need adjustment after the fact to get the fit just right. Attached in the doc.

What did you finish it with ?

I wrapped it in black vinyl to match the dash .. you can still see picks of the install at riocar.org ... don't remember my specific location, but it's under greg's audi a4 somewhere in there.

sorry that I don't have any experience to recount, but I'm in the same position as you. one thing I had though of was to replace the storage bin in the top of the dash with one of the flip-up bins they have ( see this link at Tregcentral.com ) and then possibly modifying it to hide the empeg in there.
