What do you think guys... should I hang up custom fiberglassing or does this look good? BTW LineX is cool!

Suh-wheet.

The metallic finish on the enclosure reminds me of carnival rides. How very appropriate.

Does the enclosure look metalic? I had it coated with Line-X bedliner, my camera is weird... Looks like black plastic, with a really rough texture in the real world... or are you talking about the green on my dash?

Are you not worried that as the handle gets loose, it will come out of the sled and bash someone on the head?

EDIT: That said, the fiberglass job looks great and it looks like those are great locations for speakers. How does it sound?

Ah, didn't realize. In the photos, the rough texture makes it looks like smooth black plastic with embedded metallic flakes. That's a common finish for the fiberglass bodies of the cars on carnival rides, so that's why the image came to mind.

I actually am a little worried about that, especially if I ever decide to take this thing off road.... but we'll deal with that when someone's head gets whacked..

Speakers actually sound really good, Line-X also acts as an excellent sound deadener... Cool thing, and I wish I had a pic, is that I was actually able to get a 4 channel amp and 2 of the infinity crossovers in the box itself, so it's all self contained except for the wiring of course... so I'll be doing testing to see how easily it overheats...

Yeah, the falling-out is a concern. Should come up with some kind of unobtrusive catch mechanism.

You say the amplifier is in that enclosure? Make sure it's got airflow to cool it. Amps have those metal vanes on the outside for a reason.

Extremely nice work!!! Do you intend to get one of the new fascia? It might look cool with a brushed aluminum finish or perhaps an anodized to match your dash!

I'm really hoping the amp doesn't overheat... I don't drive it more then twenty minutes at a time anyway (too and from work), hopefully it won't give too many problems.

Haven't been here in a while, I didn't realize someone was doing fascia's again... might have to look into that.

Wow. Nice job with the pod! Looks great.

Seeing that empeg perched up there give me the willies though. It's only a matter of time before it slips out and shatters the display nipple. You should definitely consider some sort of safety latch. That said... I haven't handled that empeg in that position, so if you think it feels secure, then rock on. Nice job either way!

Cool, I used to have the Postal version of that scout ('64, I think it was) with the right hand drive that I converted to 4wd.

Is the assembly hollow from speakers to empeg? I mention this because nothing beats the snot out of circuit boards like a speaker near by. I've seen installs like this in vans and such where the stereo didn't live a year. If it's in it's own compartment, you should be fine.

Reminds me a lot of my buddy's 69 Bronco (restored). Can you share more exterior pictures?
