2008 Honda Ridgeline - 15/09/2008 18:54

After more than 4 months I finally got off my arse and installed my mk2a in my Ridgeline.

Since there was a (useless) DIN-sized pocket underneath the factory radio I decided to install the player there and run the stock deck aux-in to the empeg. This way I didn't have to struggle with Honda's proprietary antenna cable and I have the CD player as a 'just in case'.

Unfortunately, I got so caught up in the install that I forgot to take pic's as I went along. frown Here's a few of my player's new home:

I'm still playing around with the button colors. I like the way the Dark Smoke lens looks. smile

Very nice work!
Is it easy to read the display?

Thanks. smile

As always, in direct sunlight it's practically impossible to see.

As compared to the other vehicles its been mounted in:
94 Isuzu Amigo- Green Lens,
93 Pontiac Grand AM- Red Lens,
98 Dodge Ram- Blue Lens,
05 Scion tC- Amber Lens,
02 Toyota Tacoma- Red Lens
I don't have much luck with vehicles blush

This is by far the best! The Dark smoke lens is new so that could play into it as well.

The funny thing is that Honda actually offers an optional "MP3 Player" to fit in that slot. In truth it's a glorified CD player that just happens to include the functionality that the stock radio is inexcusably missing. All for a low price of ~$320. shocked

I like my setup better. wink
