Help needed identifying amplifier connections - 19/02/2002 15:49

I have a 2nd user amp on SOR from a colleague provided I can get it working, the only problem is that there are 3 screw terminals I can't identify.

Inputs & outputs are obvious, the 3 connections I'm struggling with are labelled as follows:

CON
B+
V+ .... with REM opposite

Presumably they must be for +12v, Gnd & Pwr-On and they are all of equal size.

The amp is an old(ish) Jet Sound JS-4080P 50Wx4

I have my hunches but the terminology used on the screen printed legend seems somewhat illogical to me, can anyone help please?

Cheers,
Rue

Ok, I think I've worked this out but I had to take the unit apart to do it.
If anyone's interested the 3 unknown connections are as follows:
CON Ground (CON possibly should read 'COM')
B+ +12v Supply (Battery +?!)
V+ On/Off control

This AMP is of Chinese origin and a budget device at that, my guess is something was lost in the translation when they chose the panel markings

B+ is definitely the constant power lead, I've had several Phoenix Gold and Clarion items labeled this way. Not positive about the others but I'm *pretty sure* you're right...

You might hook up that B+, then use a multimeter to each of the other two (one lead to the terminals, one to ground on the car somewhere) and see which one flows power through.
