Emplode over IR

Be interesting to have an IR conduit for emplode. This way you could have a bit more control with a full laptop to search, flip to other playlists, etc.

Definitely not something to do while driving though. A passenger would be able to make good use of it.

I've got an IR port on my Dell Inspiron, but I haven't found a use for it yet (any suggestions?) though I'd throw this one out.

If you have a GSM cell phone with an IR port you could use it as a modem for wireless internet access while on the road. I used to do this with a Palm V. Speeds were about that of a 14.4 modem. Not bad when you have a ton of minutes and want to check your email.

Cool, I just got the palm to sync over IR. Need more IR toys ;-)

I wouldn't get too hooked on IR. The last three laptops I've bought for work and personal didn't have IR. I think it is being dumped in favor of Bluetooth. Unfortunately, Bluetooth was an option on one of those laptops, and not even available on the other two.

Luckily our Empegs are Bluetooth-able.

All laptops I owned got IR, and IR access (term, emplode) would be a great feature!
