connecting sensors to th empeg - 13/08/1999 11:34
Hi,
what about a project for connecting external sensors (e.g. temerature) to th empeg.
Are there any problems with the serial port if itīs car powered ? (-5V)
there are already several home-project - I think it would be quite easy to port them:

The serial port has -ve voltages - the charge pump in the serial chip deals with this.
At some point I might dig out a PIC and publish some source for a simple I/O device (eg - steering wheel remote), but I need some free time first ;)

To my left, my steering wheel, already with a bunch of controls on it, but room for a few more.
To my Right, a Pic developer kit.
Absent, the protocol.
Hmm, I see another few late nights coming on.

Hmm.
Landrover with paddle switches on column.
Half a clue with assembler.
Bad attitude.
Netwinder for ARM development
Wish to learn PIC development.
This could be a plan.
Knowing the way my programming projects often go, this could quite easily also be a banana. Time will tell.

Hello
Did you got your temp-sensor working ?? Could you find something ??
I'm interested in a temp-sensor connected to empeg.
Maybe someone knows how to do ???

I was thinking more about using the serialport for a GSM modem, and then adding WAP support :) Everyone talks about, why not us :)

Yeah, like how about a clock along with that temp sensor?
I'm clueless to programming, so I'll leave this to you experts. :)
Empeg ROCKS!

The Mark2 will have a clock and both models have a temp sensor. It just only reads the internal temp.
