Any way to skip forward XX tracks in a playlist? - 29/04/2004 08:56

I have my playlists pretty much as one big 3000 song list in alpha order. Artist->Album->Track Number.

Say I'm listening to The Rippingtons and I want to listen to The Who, I have to hit next like 50 times to get there. I sthere any way to skip forward like 10 songs or so in a playlist?

Thanks!

No. Why don't you just set up your playlists such that you can select "The Who" directly? I suppose you could also do a playlist tweak or something, but I don't remember if you can undo those.

There is a feature in Hijack, I believe it is called KnobSeek, that lets you spin the knob to scroll forward in the playlist really fast.

But Bitt is right, you need to start making use of the hierarchical playlists. Click here for an example.

You can also use this feature to skip to the next album, as Bitt said.

i have alphabetic playlists: a-e, f-j...etc
then within those play lists i have each individual letter a,b ..etc
then within each letter i have the artist, using the first letter of the group name or artist name...this way i can fine the artist pretty fast

then within each artist i have a playlist for each album...or a separate playlist for individual songs.

also..i have playlists for genres as well

took a bit of time but very organized and easy to find what i want
