Could it be possible that the S3 merger will increase the chances of an NTSC/PAL output on the Mk III ?

It would be so to have the visuals/menus in full color on the carin display (in car) or TV (at home).

I know...probably wishfull thinking

Twood be good! & the ability to visualise on Aux in as well would open the door to a vast number of applications - The algorithms used in the empeg visuals only use the time domain data generated by the MP3 codec, there is nothing MP3 specific about them (apart from tag information).

You could use displayserver(see programming forum) and a PC with TV-out connected to your TV-set.
Full color would be a problem, maybe I could add some color-cycling for the special effects...

Hi,

Using displayserver could be a way to do it.

Apropos colors, remember that there are still two bits per pixel left, which could actually enable simple colors. Too bad we can't hack around in the images in the player executable.

Here's what I use for VGA / RCA conversion.

(I used it at a party I had a while ago. Cool dance songs and Geis running on a 45" TV)

That AverMedia VGA/NTSC converter looks nice. If anyone wants this feature and doesn't want to spend that much money you could just sample the Analog devices part AD725. Does basically the same thing without the bells and wistles.
