I used to own a nice audi with a lovely straight five and a great noise, next came a diahatsu three clyinder turbo fantastic noise with added attraction of a dump valve and turbo whistle. Now if have a dull bmw 4 clyinder which sounds pants.

What i want is a feature where the empeg senses engine revs and changing gear and in return gives you the engine noise you really want. So you can choose between an alfa V6 or a american V8 a glorious V12 or even a turbo five or 3. Plus of course the switchable turbo noises.

Heh, neat idea. You could do this pretty easy. Write a bit of software that samples the mic input and outputs a loop of the desired wave file.

Don't expect the Empeg guys to do it, but there's nothing to stop you from coding it up.

Once I had a daihatsu 3 zylinder, too. Unfortunately it was not the GTti.. But I drove with the GTti, too.
Not bad that 101 hps and about 800 kg...

actually if my memory serves me right fiat fitted a system to an experimental uno that had active noise canceling but in addition you could have it sounding like a 911 or a v6 or a v8
