Hi all,
here's an idea I had. I think it would be a great idea if you could put a 802.11 wireless ethernet card into the empeg car player. Wouldn't it be great if you can drive you car in the garage, then go to you desktop PC and upload new songs, whilst the empeg is still in the car?
Any comments?

Any comments?

Plenty.

Do peruse the [search] function of this board a bit... (In other words, you will find the subject having been discussed quite heavily, but I am too lazy to locate relevant threads for you :-)

Since this has already been discussed in other threads, I'll give the short answer:

No room in the casing for a PCMCIA card, not enough demand to try to work one in, would make unit too expensive, etc.

However, the ethernet jack on the back of the unit works quite well in the car, and many people have come up with different solutions for plugging the ethernet cable into a wireless bridge running off of the car's 12v power. One of the empeg demo cars has an Apple Airport sitting on the parcel shelf.

For more information, please check the corresponding entry in the FAQ.

..and the other demo car has an Apple Airport sitting on the sub. I'd better get it doing something interesting in time for the European meet at the end of this month!
