PIN - 01/07/2001 06:35

can we have some sort of PIN management as i have no idea to what i have given things i have no idea as to the best way to approach it.

My solution would be to have a page within emplode displaying all playlists and tracks that had an PIN assignerd to them a bit like an excel spreadsheet as a rough idea.

I am sure some one can come up with better idea.

Om... Om.... Om...

er, I mean 1.1.

There will be a search panel in 1.1 that allows you to search on any criteria and display all of the results. This has been reported elsewhere on the BBS.

I hope they call it something other than version 1.1 it should be 10.1 or something

Although it's not online, you can export you complete playlist structure as a CSV file for Excel. Assigined PIN numbers was one of the columns, IIRC.

Hi,

I think its about time we get the discussion about version numbers started.

V1.1, V1.5 or V2.0?

:-)

Well, set up a poll in a new thread, then!

Re: PIN - 06/07/2001 07:04

I thought the logic was:
1.0 - first mainstream release
1.0x - minor bug fixes
1.1 - major restructuring and product polishing
1.x - additional revisions and fine tuning, feature adding
2.0 - VR added
2.0x - minor bug fixes
2.x - major revisions
... ...

does this not seem right?

Or you could conform to current M$ initiated trends and call it empegcar 2001, 2003 etc

I don't think, therefore I am not.

Re: PIN - 06/07/2001 07:10

I think we may be calling v1.1 by the name v2.0 - it's a lot further on, and this saves confusion with v1.01 and v1.1. Note that this doesn't mean we've dropped VR as a planned feature, it'd just have a higher number as a release.

Well, now MS is doing this, as seen on Office XP and Windows XP RC1:
"Microsoft Windows XP - Version 2002". Of course deep down it says it's NT 5.1.

Re: PIN - 07/07/2001 04:05

You should consider the addition 'XP' not to be an acronym for eXPerience, but for eXPensive ;o)

About those version numbers. I remember having heard that emplode has been rewritten from scratch, therefore I opt for a version number somewhere in 2.x. Keep the same versioning on emplode as well as the developer/consumer images. Maybe even update the documentation (pdf) with the same version number as well. Oh well, just a thought, I know it's much work...

Emplode will not follow the same version scheme as the car player in future, as it will not be product specific. You'll have to wait and see what new products it will support, though!
