dimmer when on AC power - 23/07/2001 11:11

Hi.

I wonder why this has not come up before (or at least, I was unable to find a thread about this). Is there any reason behind the decision not to make dimmer settings available when on AC power?
At least with developer image 1.03, I'm unable to dim the display. This might be a rather seldom wish, but I just installed a 'smoked' faceplate from Steve (DRKSTORM), and though it isn't much brighter than the factory green (AR) faceplate, I would still like to dim the display to approx. 80% to compensate.
BTW: that smoked plate (and the resulting color of the display) fits my cars LCDs etc. perfectly. I will post photos of my install some day next week I guess.

Hey Sven,
You should probably change your sig line now.

"proud MkII owner (12GB blue now green, #080000113)"
to
"proud MkII owner (12GB blue then green now smoke, #080000113)"

Hey Steve.

Right, but that would be longer than the maximum signature size of this BBS (which is kinda small, at least if one uses markup in it).
Anyway, the smoked faceplate actually leads to a color that's about half way between the green and the blue faceplate, so my signature is about 2*(1/2) right, so absolutely right.
Fixed it anyway.

I agree.. I personally use my empeg at night sometimes and it tends to be very bright in a dark room.. (I've resorted to using a blank screen but it's not the same..)
