Press F2 to rename playlist/track

Press F2 to rename playlist/track - 29/11/2001 22:26

Ok, this is the last one for tonight.

I'd like the ability to press F2 to edit the name of the item I've selected right within the pane views without opening its perperties tab. Simple. Just to follow a bit closer with the functionality of explorer and to aid in quick operations with less keyboard/mouse activity.

Ummm my Empeg is across the room so I can't be sure, but since you've said you're using 1.03, I suspect that F2 might be mapped to rename in 2.0b3. I use F2 a lot myself and I think I would have noticed if it's not there.

F2 works as you'd expect in v2.0. ISTR that it worked in most places in v1.0 as well.

Bonus feature for the next release of v2.0: You can now bulk-rename an album by pressing F2 when it's selected in the LHS. It changes all of the tracks within the album to have the new album name.

...and I managed to throw away about 100 lines of code when implementing it, too .

Thanks for letting us know about the bulk rename in the left pain. That could have been a source of a lot of problems if I chose to do some playlist renaming and did it on the left instead of the right.

Phew. Any chance the other business with respect to batch operations (like removing leading or trailing text) is going to make it in any time?

Nope. I'm planning on enabling that kind of stuff with scripting, which might get implemented later in the 2.0 series, but not for this release.
