Cover plate

How about a cover plate for when you intend to have the empeg removed from the car for extended periods of time. You can cover up the hole so it doesn't look like you got your radio stolen. I know I know, you beta testers would think "why would I leave teh unit out for a long time?" Well how about long term airport parking? Driving around while uploading 20gig of mp3's, etc.

Just a thought.

....or having one Empeg but two cars with slots for it.

You can... You can purchase an extra wiring harness, so that you can have multiple cars that can play the same empeg. Write
them and ask how you can purchase the extra harness.

Thanks for the tip but I already have a harness in each car and do regularly move it between cars. What I meant was that another reason for having a cover/blank would be to cover the hole in one car while the Empeg is in another car.

Cheers,

Mark.

I was thinking of doing the exact opposite - getting some old wires and leaving them hanging out of the hole so it looks like it has already been stolen. Just like my car looks like at the moment :-(.

Fully agree.
Parking at the airport with this big empty hole in the dash surely indicates the stuff is in the boot ! (Where indeed I keep the empeg)
We need a simple cover that fils the empty space, pretending it is a radio with front-panel removed, with text SECURITY CODE

Can anyone produce this ??

Or maybe a cover plate that looks like an 8-track player?

Here's something i'm thinking about doing.... Getting an old car stereo from a garage sale or something, and "cutting" the front off. It has to be something "cheap" and "not wourth stealing" (maybe the buttons are broken or something) and just glue it to a block of wood, like a 2x4 or something. Then just slide the block of wood in the empty empeg slot, and it looks like you have some chezy stereo that isn't wourth stealing.

what do you think?

Why go to all the trouble of "cutting the front off and glue it to a block of wood, like a 2x4 or something". Why not just slide the whole cheap stereo into the empeg bay. That way if they did break into the car, they'd think they had the real stereo, and wouldn't start looking in the trunk... or is that the boot? No, you're from New Jersey, it's definitely the trunk.
