Loading long id3 titles into Emplode - 03/09/1999 05:51

It looks like the emplode software truncates the title field of the mp3 id information to 32 chars when loading them. The mp3's all look fine under Musicmatch 4.1.

ID3 tags for Artist/Album are 30 characters long. Doesn't
music match you its own database for recording this info?

Take a look at http://www.id3.org/id3v1.html for
info on ID3 tags.

Entries for the funniest truncated song/artist name are now
open.....

It might do, but when I type in the lost characters into the emplode software, it remembers them. It's not a major problem as I've only had a couple of titles which are too long.

emplode has a 255 character limit for all fields.

I see, if Emplode and MusicMatch talked together then the names could be transferred complete. Well never mind perhaps in the future...... ;-)

using long title/artist/album names - 05/09/1999 02:45

what about an option in emplode to extract the tile/artist/album from the file/dir-name instead of the ID3 tag ?

A sensible idea except we'd need several different options for artist/album/track.mp3 album/track.mp3 and artist/track.mp3.

I'll put it on the wishlist.

Well, how about the revolutionary idea of using ID3v2 tags when they are present?
They are quite easy to parse, trust me!
