If I leave the player in aux mode and then put it into standby it will continue to play whatever is on the aux input. Is this normal?

Um, how's it wired?

Sounds like you don't have the amplifier wired to the amp remote wire correctly.

Nah. It's not in the car. I'm using it plugged into the mains at the moment and the amp is permanently on.
I'm just wondering if it should turn on SAM when it goes into standby.

Yeah, I've seen that while testing the harnesses I'm making. Basically if you're in aux mode and the ignition sense line goes off, while the unit remains in standby with the pulsing LED, it doesn't turn off the amps and still passes the Aux through to the outputs.

I didn't consider it to be a major problem.

Except for draining your battery....

True if you have the standby timeout to something very large. Mine's the default (15 seconds?) though so it doesn't matter to me. I would also assume (probably incorrectly) the majority of people would have still have the default.

After the unit drops out of standby mode to fully off, the amp line goes off and so does the aux pass through.

Ah. I didn't follow that.
