Muted Output After Starting Car - 15/03/2003 12:45

I'm pretty sure this has happened to me before, but this was the first time I was paying enough attention...

I was sitting in the parked car listening when the person I was waiting for arrived, so I put the player into standby and started the car. I hit the top button to bring it out of standby, and soon realized it wasn't outputting any sound. So I assumed it was the lack of pause icon on resume bug, and hit the top button again. At this point, pausing and unpausing would give a little chirp of music, but no sound would come out while it was playing. I put the player into standby and back out, and everything worked normally.

I'm running b13 with a recent Hijack. I have the telephone mute wire set to do nothing, and taped off in the dash. Does anyone have any ideas what the problem may be? It's not that big of deal really, but we strive for perfection around here.

This is a known/reported bug in that version of the software. I do not know if it will be fixed by the next release or not.

I'm pretty sure this is not merely FITNR but also fixed in the current alpha team version.

OK, cool! I'd thought there was a work around in place so that pressing "pause" would correctly re-toggle the DSP mute, but not necessarily a fix to prevent it from happening in the first place. I was able to reproduce the error for a while, then it stopped happening in my car, so I was never able to test the fix. (That's why I said I wasn't sure. )

it happens every time my player goes into standby, and i restart my car. If you want me to try the fix, I would be more than happy too.

If the fix you’re talking about is hitting the top button as fast as you can. I was never able to get quick enough to get 2 button presses in before the kernel picked up on them.

usually my bad luck ends up for the better ... not always, but usually. So i can take it all in stride pretty easily.
