Emplode 2.0final installation problems - 11/04/2003 10:31

I believe I have found a packaging problem with the new version of Emplode.

The zip file des not seem to be complete. The following files are zipped up:
RIOHD.inf
RIOHD.sys
rioxdrv.inf
RIOXDRV.sys
setup.exe

Running setup produces the following error:
InstallShield: 1155: File C:\UNZIPPED\CAR-EMPLODE-V2.00\INSTMSIA not found.

In beta13, the following files were supplied:
instmsia.exe
instwsiw.exe
Rio emplode.msi
setup.exe
setup.ini

This machine has never had Empeg/Rio software installed on it and the Empeg has never been connected to it.

I am using Win98 - critical updates are up-to-date. WinZip version is 8.1evaluation (although unzip on my Solaris box agrees on the file contents).

I guess it could be me - I am pretty clueless when it comes to Windows stuff and it is hard to believe that no-one else has tried emplode 2.0.

I'll wait until someone confirms or denies the above before emailing [email protected]

Thanks guys. I searched the bug reports section of the BBS but didn't get a hit - guess I didn't try hard enough.

I looked at that link to the FAQ that is on the post message page and thought "Yea yea yea, read the FAQ - I know. It isn't in the FAQ". I guess some people won't read the FAQ. no matter *what* you do.

This information should perhaps be in the README distributed with Emplode, as it bears directly upon someone upgrading for the first time on a clean host machine.

Still, glad I could find what I needed to know quickly with the BBS search feature (keyword "INSTMSIA.EXE") and the FAQ link provided in this thread. Three cheers for community support!
