Shuffle on/off bug (?)

Shuffle on/off bug (?) - 29/08/2000 15:35

I'm not going to bother forwarding this to bugs@empeg because I'm not sure if it's a bug, and I know that the shuffle mode's been changed anyways, BUT -

Shuffle off - 3714 songs
Shuffle on - 3642 songs

??? what gives? why the difference?

Obvious thought... Do you have some tracks in there more than once (or tracks with the same name)?

If I remember, isn't there some de-dupe code involved in the shuffle routines?

yes - but I thought the de-dupe also deduped before playing regular? If not, then that'd explain it..

Right. It only de-dupes the shuffled list, not the regular list. If it did, then you'd wonder where the songs went as it went through your playlists. This is the correct behavior. In fact, I'd be really pissed if it de-duped in regular mode.

Would de-duping in non-shuffle mode somehow cause quantities of alcohol to appear in your bloodstream? :)

Maybe alcohol in bloodstream while programming caused de-duping in non-shuffle mode?
