Can't upgrade from 1.01RC2 to 1.01

Can't upgrade from 1.01RC2 to 1.01 - 15/10/2000 10:40

All,

I need some help on this minor issue, that is bugging me at the moment.

I can't get the Upgrader to spot my empeg mk2 over serial. Emplode is also failing to spot the empeg too, which points to a cable or port problem, you would think. But...

* I've now tried two seperate serial cables - the mk1 and mk2 versions, with the same results.
* I've tried two different sets of settings for the serial port (116k, no flow control and 9k flow control - the default).
* I can see output from the empeg via SecureCRT
* The cable/port worked fine for the upgrade to 1.01rc2, but not now.

Any ideas?

I'd be pointing the finger at the serial port (either on the empeg or on my pc), but I can see output via my terminal program, so there's no hardware problem.

Help!

Paul.

Is your USB from your empeg plugged into your system while you do the upgrade ? If so unplug it, that bugs me every time I upload a logo.

I assume you are running Win98 or Win2K here...

Cheers,
Hans

Thanks for the response...

No it's not plugged in - I don't use USB on the empeg (I'm all ethernet) and the ethernet isn't plugged in either.

Not wishing to sound patronising, but did you you close the terminal program before trying it?

Roger - not necessarily speaking for empeg

No, a very fair question, and the answer is yes, I did.

Thanks to mac, it looks as though the empeg can't detect wether it's on DC or AC power - it may be a return to base support job.

Cheers,

Paul.
