IRQ17 is locking the system, disabled

IRQ17 is locking the system, disabled - 12/06/2001 18:41

I was working in a shell under the 1.03 beta 4 kernel, and when I pasted a few hundred lines of code, the error "IRQ17 is locking the system, disabled" appeared a few times, then the paste continued at the speed of maybe 1-2cps. I've done this same paste procedure many times before 1.03 with the same setup. It could be a different problem causing this, but I figure I'd report it here to see what that error could mean.

Hmm, very strange. IRQ17 is the serial port's interrupt. I suspect it may be the action of pasting that is causing problems (though it shouldn't). The port has no problems handling large amounts of data at 115200 (eg, via Zmodem).

The kernel hasn't had any changes in that area, so maybe it's just a fluke.

It's the first time I have seen it, so I'll just pass it off as a fluke for now then. (I was glad I had telnet enabled to get in and remount the drives RO, since at the pace it was going, I had a few hours to wait )
