Transient Info on Tuner

Transient Info on Tuner - 17/10/2001 18:31

Transient info mode on tuner doesn't act as I expected. When the info line is there and you switch presets, it dutifully tells you the name of the preset. However, when it "scrolls down" out of view, and you then switch presets, the line doesn't pop back up to show you the name of the next preset. I think it should pop up when you switch presets.

But visuals on tuner are way cool. :)

This is on the existing bug list and is in the release notes.

If you switch from an AM preset to an FM preset, it'll pop up. So always switch from AM to FM presets.

Will do! tsk tsk.

I LOVE the fact that AM and FM have different vis settings.. Wonder if they'd think about changing that to separate vis for each preset... that'd be swell.

I actually reported that as a bug. I thought that everything- am, fm, aux, player, should all share the same vis and info-screen preferences. I thought it would confuse people. Oh well, guess I was wrong.

BOO! Bad Tony. Thou shalt not report cool features as bugs!

I'm with yn0t_ on this one. I'd like to have the AM stations just stick with Anna Vu. By the same token, I'd like to have the timecode setting be independent for the tuner and the player. I pretty much always want the clock showing in the tuner modes, but be able to switch the player timecode without affecting that.

As cool an idea as the guessed timecode is, there isn't enough dead air on commercial radio for it to find a "track" boundary.

That's mainly useful on the Aux input.

All the more reason to have separate timecode settings for the tuner, right?
