emplode segfault when config nonexistant - 22/02/2002 20:32

Brand new Rio Car that I'm trying to get the ethernet working on. Doesn't matter what I do with the config command -- emplode (v2.00b11) dies with a segfault: empegcar-v2.00b11> ./emptool /dev/ttyS0 2000 Checking connection [Done] 2121 Downloading 1260 Drive 0 size: 28497M, free: 28497M, used: 21504 (0%) 1260 = Total size: 28497M, free: 28497M, used: 21504 (0%) 2121 Starting download [Done] 2122 Retrieving tags index [Done] 2123 Retrieving databases [Done] 2124 Retrieving playlists [Done] /> config 4010 Could not retrieve configuration file from player (Error 0xc0041002)/> /> config options name Sasquatch 4010 Could not retrieve configuration file from player (Error 0xc0041002)Segmentation fault I don't know if the same problem exists in 1.03. I'm going to try installing the developer kernal to create the config file before connecting with emplode.... [Update] Same problem in 1.03. Developer kernal isn't of any use. I found the source of the bug in the emptool code, and will send a patch...

Interesting. There was an old old bug where the software would go Tango Uniform on a missing config file, but that was fixed a long time ago.

You're saying EMPLODE does this, not just emptool?

That output is from emptool, so I suspect that the thread has the wrong subject.

Who did you send the patch to?

Anyway, this is FITNR.

Roger is right -- the thread is misnamed, the bug is in emptool v2.00b1 (and earlier).

I haven't sent the patch to anyone yet, because I was having issues with my home connection -- I was going to mail it
to bugs@. If it's FITNR, I'll just be content having my version fixed early.

If anyone does want the patch, though, I've attached it here (hopefully).

Cheers,
