It's difficult to explain but I'll give it my best shot. When I have a long scolling line of info on the bottom, say in "Info: Seek Tool", some letters in the scrolling line cause a vertical line that dims what ever crosses it's path. I can replicate this many different ways but this is the easiest to explain: Select a track with a very long name that is so long that it has to scroll. Flip to Seek Tool. Stare at the total time numbers in the upper right. You should see very slight dim lines that pass through the numbers corresponding with the scrolling info on the bottom. You will also notice these dim lines when paging through the different info modes in the highlighted box that the words "Info: Track" or "Info: Now & Next" is located in. In fact the track/playlist times located at the bottom of Now & Next also causes these dim vertical lines. Look for them while paging through the different info modes.

This, combined with your other report that certain info modes change the display brightness, tells me you've got a problem with your display board and should contact support.
