The Empeg doesn't respond to the remote.

I have a mark2 empeg that works great except with the remote. I believe the problem to be due to the reciever on the empeg. I have looked at the remote through a video camera and saw the infrared flash only when I pushed a button. I also got my remote to work on my friends empeg but his wont work on mine. I have beta 2.11 and the latest hijack installed. Any suggestions?

I had a faulty IR receiver on my MK2. It worked perfectly for a couple months, then died one day. I sent it to empeg in Cambridge and it worked for them (of course). They replaced the IR receiver anyway, and it's been good ever since.

I'm not suggesting your IR receiver is busted. I'm just letting you know what happened to me. I think the thread I started on the subject was called "Remote Control Oddities."

Just some more info. This is not a sunlight only problem or a car/home problem. It doesn't seem to work anywhere. Also it started by not working every once in a while now it seems to be always. I also tried it with a learning remote as well to no avail. Any help is appreciated.

I actually just read your post but how would I contact Cambridge to get mine replaced since I can't see it being ne where else.

I'm not sure if you have or not from your posts, but you should try out hijack's display of remote codes as you press buttons... It'll give you an idea if anything is getting through at all...

You didn't say whether you had a Rio remote or a Kenwood remote. Did you disable the Kenwood in the player configuration?

And although your text seems to hint that you've read the FAQ on this topic, just in case you haven't read it, click here and make sure you try all of the things listed before contacting support.

Also, have you tried a new (fresh) battery in the remote just in case the discrimination level is different between the two empeg's and all you have is a low(ish) battery?

I tried two new batteries in it since radioshack has been known to hand out the occasional dead battery. And i did disable the kenwood remote since I have the Rio remote. Also I tried using Hijack's button code thing and it showed nothing.

Another note of information. My remote does work every two weeks or so. This will last maybe 10 minutes.

We also tried using my remote which works fine on my empeg, and also his remotes works fine on my empeg, im pretty sure its the IR Box.

Ps. also is David still with the team, i remember reading somewhere that hes part time not and evntually going to leave.

David is still here, still part time, and I guess everyone is EVENTUALLY going to leave!
