No. You can't.

"VM: killing process xyz" means that the OS has run out of memory. It randomly picks a process to kill.

We don't advise running any daemons while the player binary is running, because the player binary assumes that it has the entire machine to itself, and simply allocates the full 12Mb (minus a bit for the kernel) on a mk2.
