I never once had a lockup with my iPod and the thing just worked.

A friend of mine who uses his iPod to play music at our roleplaying sessions has his lock up at least every other session. This is under pretty heavy use, where a new song/playlist is being selected every 5-10 minutes. And this is with the newest updates from Apple for his second gen unit.

So yes, iPods lock up too.
