If you had read the very first link I gave you, you would have seen that database trouble can be caused by hard disk trouble.

You have two problems.

Problem 1: Hard disk trouble, either because of a bad hard disk or connection trouble between the hard disk and the rest of the player.

Problem 2: A corrupted database file as a direct result of problem 1.

You must solve the problems, in order of Problem 1, then problem 2. You have been given links that describe how to solve the problems. Please avail yourself of them.

PS: Check your IDE cables carefully. Since you have a Mk1, you might be having the problem I had with my Mk1 which was that a jumper on the motherboard rubbed the cable and wore off the insulation, causing a short.
