How do you wear out wipers in California?

If you've already decided to replace it then just do it. 20 hours drive is what? About 2 weeks worth of regular driving? I don't know what I5 is like, but generally interstates are much cleaner then other roads - it's just that the speed that cause what few rocks do get thrown up to cause a disproportionately high number of cracks. What would happen if you got it replaced and it got cracked within a month during your daily commute? Would that be any better?

BTW, if you're concerned about the crack propagating during your trip then see how it responds to gentle manual pressure - if it easily elongates then it answers your question...
