Assuming these eMusic files are genuine MP3s...

Check them in MP3Trim and see if it reports any problems with them. If not, then you can look and see if you've got RAM problems by doing the RAM test.

If the files themselves are the source of the problem, then hang on to a copy of at least one of the "bad" files. If the file still produces a problem on the upcoming version 1.1 of the empeg software, then send it to the Empeg folks so that they can debug it.
