Well, it was a nice evening today, calm and sunny, so I thought I'd go fly a camera again. I tried pointing it to the side this time, and got some really excellent shots. The only problem was I forgot to disable the intelligent autofocus, so I got quite a few really clear closeups of the wing

I have given up trying to take shots on demand, so simply put a 1GB card in the camera and set my shutter release board to fire it every two seconds which is as fast as the Ixus will go with that CF card. It gives about 16 minutes of shooting, which is ample. I can always turn it off in mid flight if I want to stretch the time.

The biggest problem is that the field is mostly flooded, so I had to pick the landing spot carfully if I didn't want the camera (under the plane) to end up submerged.
