If you can describe what to look for in /proc, I'd be happy to dig around in there, but it's not something with which I'm familiar.

Anyway, yes I can telnet in, no problem. The exit status of rsync after I manually kill it is 137, but I've no idea what that means. Or did you mean the status of the script? How would I get that?
