That was okay, but I'm sure if the meeting was more sensitive, they would have forced those people to leave their phones outside or something.

All the meetings like that I've been to, they just collect anything that transmits (pagers are OK) and they leave them outside the room. It is just easier to avoid any mistakes or somebody forgetting or similar. There are different levels of sensitivity though.
