It may be a situation similar to one I saw back in 2008 when I was in negotiations with a startup for some contract work. They were behind on the software and it ended up pushing out their product release. They finally did release, but the Mac software took even longer still. Much longer than what I had quoted them in my proposal. Guess they backed the wrong horse with that one.
