I certainly had considered something like that myself.

Still, just buying a known-reliable model would be more useful to me. And Uncle Google isn't helping me with that at the moment.

I'd also trust the anecdotal evidence about router reliability from the folks in this forum, more than I would trust from any of the forums discussions that came up in my Google search. So if anyone wants to chime in, I'm listening.
