Well I just took my Empeg out to the car and I noticed something that pretty much tells me the adaptor plug is broken... When I plug the Empeg into the car, it immediately turns on. It isn't waiting for the Accessory line to become active. That tells me it's not the kernel or anything else.

This is definitely the broken adaptor plug problem, AGAIN.

Hugo, if this is the case, what can I do to diagnose the problem and possibly fix it myself? Is it usually the same problem when this happens?
