Some of my albums, songs are not properly listed like band name etc... is there an easy quick way to fix them or do u have to do them all manually?

Do you mean... on your player, or on your PC before they get loaded onto the player? Does this help?

In the empeg or on disk? In the empeg if you use jemplode you can select all the tracks with one source, choose "Properties" from the edit menu, and set an artist, source, and as much other data as you know for all the tracks.

On disk, get a batch tag editor. I use linux, so i have a command line tool called id3v2 and a perl script, and a tag stripper called mp3strip (I think).

I use augmented cddb format data as metadata for tagging. If you use linux I can give you scripts which take a table of contents from cdparanoia and download a cddb file, another to augment it, and another to invoke id3v2. They're around... somewhere.

Whoever wrote that entry has similar tastes in music to mine. I think I just got an inadvertant recommendation for Steve Morse. (I do have Steve Morse-era Kansas on my player)

I'm a big fan of Steve's solo work. Favorite albums are "High Tension Wires" and "Southern Steel". I highly recommend both those albums. Favorite pieces are "Modoc" from HTW and "Simple Simon" from SS.

Music that is on the player... like for example I have say Nirvana/Nevermind/track01.mp3

I want it to be Smells Like Teen Spirit.mp3 and when I go to info in the player will list year, album, etc.. accordingly. is there a way to scan the unit and have it fix what CDDB knows or something?? I have no clue.

Not really. This is why I want the ability to import a database into e.g. jemplode after exporting it. You could then script this sort of thing out of band.

I just never found the time to work on it.
