Hey ppls

I seem to be running out of space on my 60 gig empeg. yet my friend has the same exact mp3's and space and he has more than 2 gigs left and i only have 1 gig. so i decided to go through the bbs and look for anything that could help me. all i found was to do a advance search on refs = 0. so i did that and I have 1175 items that come up - so my question is should I be deleting these 1175? and if i delete these will anything happen that will affect the playlists?

No.
should I be deleting these 1175?
That's another question.

What this means is that those 1175 tracks are not listed in any playlist. They got orphaned somehow. They are not currently (easily) playable on your empeg. (I think if you searched for one of those tracks directly, it'd show up.) So you need to decide if you want to reattach them to playlists or if you want to get rid of them. They might have been part of playlists you deleted or they might be tracks you tried to replace.

They might have been part of playlists you deleted or they might be tracks you tried to replace.
Or they might be duplicates of tracks you already have in playlists.

Or it might be a mixture of all of the above.

Bitt's point is... you have to find out what the tracks are and why they're there. And compare them to what's actually in your playlists. And decide, on a case-by-case basis, whether or not to add them to a playlist or to delete them.

Of course, you could always upgrade your 60GB drive, if that is an option...

But those ophaned files should get you back some space to work with.
