Hi all !

My girlfriend is a beginner when it comes to computers, so the usual problems she runs into I'm able to solve quite easily. But the one she's ran into now has really got me beat.

I don't know how it happened exactly, but this is what she told me : she was doing some regular surfing, ended up on some porn site and immediately 30 windows were opened (we all know how much fun that is). When she tried closing them all she must have done something wrong, because now a link to one of those porn sites is embedded is her right-click menu! I've never seen that before ! It's there whenever a right-click is made, it doesn't matter if it's a regular right-click or a right-click on a link.
I tried removing it by using the regular utilities like ad-aware, but it doesn't do much good.

How can I remove that embedded link ?

Thanks !

You should contact LavasoftUSA and tell them about this. I'll bet that with some tweaks to ad-aware they can remove those as well.

Doesn't solve your immediate problem, but worth reporting to them nonetheless.

To get rid of right-clicks on the Explorer menu, search the Windows System Registry for a substring of the text that appears in that menu. It will be under the "Shell" entry, most likely in more than one place. Delete those entries and you should be golden.

Thanks Tony, that did the trick. Steph's happy, so I am too!
I'll contact Lavasoft about this faily new kind (to me anyway) of spyware/adware.

Like I said, we've all been there at some point.
