Anybody willing to refer me to a pro installer in the south San Francisco Bay area? The closer to Sunnyvale, the better. Many months ago there was some buzz about local shops specializing in empeg / RioCar, but I can't seem to turn any of that up on the forum searches now.

Got a RioCar that doesn't want to power up in an existing MkII sled, though it works fine off wall power. And I have zero skills to bear toward fixing it myself.

Thanks!

If you've got a MkIIa unit and a MkII sled and it won't power up, the problem most likely lies in the constant +12V wire/connections.

A MkII can be completely powered from the switched +12V line alone, but the MKIIa uses the switched +12V ONLY for telling it to turn on/off while drawing all power from the constant +12V line. See this FA Question

Even if you can't fix it yourself, this might help speed up troubleshooting for whoever that will do it...

Also check for this problem which I'll see if I can sub-link from the FAQ you just got FAQed on.

Also, check all the applicable fuses (sled, line from battery, etc.)
